Judenburg - a
town with Mediterranean charm and a special flair.
Whether you are a
culture lover interested in the Judenburg summer festival, a summer
guest who wants to enjoy nature in the idyllic surroundings, or a fan
of winter sports, or a history fan on the tracks of Ulrich von
Liechtenstein - Judenburg offers an abundance of facets one would not
expect from a small town in a rural environment.
During the 14 th
and 15 th century, Judenburg had its heyday as the "Capital of
upper Styria". From the art point of view, the highlights to be
mentioned are Gothic glass paintings from local work-shops,
sculptures of wood and stone by Master Hans von Judenburg as well as
the works of the bell founder Hans Mitter.
The 18 th century
was determined by the "carving workshop of Judenburg"
founded by Balthasa Prandtstätter and continued by Johann Nischlwitzer.
