Fernando Lima, Guitar, Brazil

    Was born in São Bento Abade (Minas Gerais - Brazil). Lima was influenced by the musical tradition of his family. With 6 years of age, Fernando appeared playing “viola caipira” (Brazilian folkloric instrument). He has initiated his studies of guitar in Suzano (São Paulo), with the teacher Luiz Carlos da Silva.

       In 1996, he entered in the Masterful Conservatory Marceliano Braga, em Varginha (Gerais Mines), where he studied with the guitarist Marcelino Diogo Leite. Souza Lima participated in VII, VIII and IX the Seminaries of Guitar, having classes with important Brazilian guitarists, like Paulo Martelli, Pedro Martelli, Eduardo Fleury, Sérgio Abreu and Roberto Capocki.

    He won the first prize of “II International Guitar Competion of Caxias do Sul “ (Rio Grande do Sul - Brazil), being awarded with concerts and courses for festivales in Austria and Switzerland. He has participated in a recording of a  “video-clasé of guitar” to invitation of  Henrique Pinto. At the moment, he attends Guitar in FAAM (Faculty of Arts Ancântara Machado) in São Paulo, being oriented by the teacher Henrique Pinto. Also he acts like concertist in important halls, in musical events in all Brazil. Recently, he was invited to take part in the most famous brazilian guitar quartet, the Quaternaglia, from São Paulo.

 

  

   

 Cecilia Siqueira

Born in Paysandú, Uruguay on the 29th of March 1982. Started her guitar studies when she was 6 years old with her parents, Raquel Franco and Julio Siqueira. Later she continued with Hugo Acosta. Currently she continues her studies with the recognized Master César Amaro. She has performed in Master Classes with great guitarists such as David Russell, Carlos Barbosa-Lima, Luz Maria Bobadilla, and Palestras with the Brazilian Henrique Pinto and Belgian guitarist Boris Gaquere. She studies Harmony, Counterpoint, Composition with the Uruguayan composer Diego Legrand.
From 1997 started her dense artistic activities including several presentations in Uruguay (Treinta y Tres, Pando, Paysandú, Montevideo, Mercedes, Salto, San José, Colonia, Durazno, Tacuarembó), Argentina (Paraná, Entre Ríos, Córdoba), Alemania (Frankfurt, Lilienthal, Neustadt), with great success.
At present she is to perform many concerts in Uruguay, Germany, Italy, Brazil, and Argentina. She shared the stage in 2 opportunities, playing with Cacho Tirao in the best theaters of Uruguay. She has made many important television presentations (S.O.D.R.E., Canal 10, Teledoce, Montecarlo, etc.). The 20th of October 2001 her first CD was released in Germany.

Prizes
The 30th of November 1997 she won the first prize in the "Primer Concurso Nacional de Guitarra" organized by the "Centro Guitarrístico del Uruguay". The 27th of July 2001 she won the first prize in the "Tercer Festival
y Segundo Concurso Internacional de Violao PRO-MÚSICA/SESC" in Caxias do Sul - Brasil.

Fernando Lima in concert in Wallern

Fernando Lima & Geris Lopes made a visit on their European tournee in Wallern. I organized a concert for Fernando in Wallern and in the Hauptschule Pamhagen. All the people and pupils were very impressed from the concert.

A visit in the castle of Fertöd (Hungary) where Joseph Haydn lived for a long time. Fernando was very impressed to stay in the same room where J. Haydn has played in the past.
