Power Line Communication substantially disturbs the short wave frequency. As a radio amateur I am affected already several years by PLT directly. In my local town area (Linz) the electrical energy supplier is operating a Power Line Communication network commercially. In the meantime approximately 5.000 users have subscribed to this " Internet from the wall outlet " service. DX-reception on shortwave is almost impossible. The proper local Communications Authorities have been made aware by myself and other radio amateurs of this interference source again and again. The federation of the radio amateurs ÖVSV became active / particularly worth to mentioning / nationally as well internationally. The first decision from the local authorities, despite in favour of protecting radio services, did not have any positive effect. Because of this, the federal ministry for traffic, innovation and technologie, e.g. "BMVIT", became involved at the highest responsible federal authority in Austria. The Federal Ministry ordered a drastic reduction of emmissions according to C E P T / E C C Rec ( 05 ) 04 to reduce the potential for harmful interference in a clear decision. All measurements in my dwelling show clear results. I contacted also the responsible "peoples advocate", with the request, to defend my civic rights.Thus, a further national state authority became active.
