Nested in the hills of Southern Austria, I have been extremely fortunate
to build a medium-sized dx and contest station, thanks to the assistance of
good friends, family and primarily the patience of my tolerant and wonderful
wife, Sissy.

Getting my ham-ticket in 1973, I started out with humble equipment in
downtown Graz. In 1988 a move to the countryside improved things considerably.
A large 20 meter monobander on a wooden pole provided lots of dx and joy for a
number of years.

Multibanding was the next goal. Various quads, quagis and yagis were
built until I finally acquired a 26m steel tower in 1998. A TH11 multibander
was put at the top along with a 2 element 40m Yagi on the wooden pole.
80 meter dxing had caught my fancy for many years and after tinkering
with slopers and different wires, more elaborate antennas were used. A 4 square
was added in 1995 and in 2000, a 2 element Create Yagi replaced the TH11 on the
main tower.

Various interlaced monobanders were experimented with on a crank-up
tower that was put in place of the rotting wooden pole. The current combination
are an OB 17-4 by Optibeam, covering 40 through 10, and a modified 1 element
Create, using high q coils instead of the originals.

Thanks for working me, hope to catch you again on the air or in person.
