THE BEGINNINGS OF OUR NARROW GAUGE TRAINS
DIE ANFÄNGE DER SCHMALLSPURBAHN
A few years ago at a train show in Traunstein, Germany I came across a convolute of Faller PlayTrain "stuff", including 4 engines, lots of cars and especially track. The track is brass and plastic track similar to LGB. The 32mm width would equate to 1 meter lines, a common narrow gauge in Europe. It fits well to 1-gauge since the profil is much finer (about 2/3 as high and narrow) and the ties are further apart - exactly what you want for a narrow gauge side line.
Vor ein paar Jahren fand ich ganz günstig an einen Modellbahntreff in Traunstein ein Convolut von Faller PlayTrain Zeug, inklusive 4 Loks, Wagons und viele Schienen. Sie sind aus Messing und Kunststoff ähnlich wie LGB. Die 32mm Breite ist in etwa Meterspur größe. Sie passen gut, da das Profil feiner ist (etwa 2/3) und die Schwellen weiter auseinander sind.
